Principal
Job Description
The Principal is the leader of the school, responsible for ensuring that all students make progress toward meeting or exceeding grade level content standards, and are on track for graduation prepared to enter college and/or career. The Principal works directly with instructional leaders, academic support providers, program coordinators, family liaisons, and other auxiliary staff to create and sustain an educational environment that is affirming and supporting for students and staff members. The Principal must have direct experience improving educational outcomes for all student groups in a school or district, as well as direct experience implementing innovative and effective research-based practices that lead to high academic achievement for all students. The Principal must be a strong facilitator, with the ability to create and sustain effective and productive teams. She/he must also be able to build powerful and positive partnerships with students and families so that all students are able to benefit from the instructional program.
